A candidate seeking admission to Engineering course has to pass the Two year Pre-University Examination of the P.U. Board, Bangalore or any other examinations conducted by any other Board or university recognized as equivalent to it with English as one of the Languages and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as optional subject

The candidate should have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in PCM in II year PUC or any other equivalent examination.

A candidate who has passed II year PUC/Equivalent course or Diploma examination from outside Karnataka has to obtain "Eligibility Certificate" from Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum by paying the prescribed fees before joining.Further students who passed their diploma course in Karnataka are eligible to join directly to second year B.E. course. They are required to apply directly to Director of Technical Education, Karnataka and no management seats are allowed under this catagory
