Tiptur town, lies in the sourthern part of Karnataka and is in Tumkur District. It is 850.3 mtrs. above sea level and is situated on Bangalore– Honnavar National Highway NH 206, at a distance of 144 km from Bangalore. The town is well connected by road and is only two hours journey by train. The present population of the town is about 70,000 and is famous for its coconut cultivation and marketing.
